In the faraway realm of Eversnow, where the northern lights dance with the stars and the snow whispers secrets of old, there was a legend seldom spoken but deeply cherished. It was the tale of the Yuletide Dragon, a magnificent creature with scales that shimmered like the very auroras it soared beneath. Once a century, on a night where magic hung heaviest in the air, the dragon would descend from its celestial abode, offering a ride to one whose heart was true.
Nicholas of Eversnow, a kindly old soul with eyes like warm hearths and a beard as white as the surrounding peaks, was chosen on this hallowed eve. The villagers knew him as the giver of gifts, a man whose laughter was a balm to the weariest of hearts. Clad in a suit of radiant red, stitched with the silver of the stars and trimmed with the green of the eternal pines, he approached the dragon with a heart full of joy and hands bearing gifts for all.
